The energy of the meridians is measured in the condition of that particular moment. Meridians may deviate from the norm because the patient is tired or hungry (red curve: basic measurement)

After the initial measurement, the meridians are subtly stimulated with an electromagnetic signal. This slight but effective provocation pushes the body to the limits of its regulative capacity. If that capacity is totally impaired, the curve after the provocation will be shown far below the basic curve.   The greater the energy loss following the provocation, the smaller the body's remaining energy. Weak meridians become weaker, not being able to compensate the provocation, strong meridians change just a bit (meaning they regulate adequately).

Blocked meridians however do not react or react minimally (shown as a red mark in the green bottom line, not visible in this graph).

After provocation, a therapeutic intervention will be applied, like medication, acupuncture or otherwise. The measured result shows a visible response:

Positive = more Energy = less resistance = confirming: the body says, "yes" to this treatment.
Negative = less Energy = more resistance = rejection; the body says "no" to this treatment.
Neutral = change less than +/- 6%, meaning staying within natural regulation values.

It is an important positive sign, when the total curve pattern is harmonious.

Practical experience has shown, that in case of a positive response, the tested medication or therapeutic intervention will support the body to surmount its problem. In case of a clear negative response, the tested medication will act as an extra stressor.
